Carol Shumake, RDH

Carol joined West Georgia Family Dentistry in 2013 and was part-time until August 2018. Carol worked in a dental lab for 20 yrs. prior to graduating Hygiene School in 2009. Carol had 6 years of employment with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta where she specialized in the care of medically compromised patients. Carol married in 1985. She and her husband have two sons. She loves spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loves missionary work and travels to Guatemala regularly.

Kathy Matthews, RDH

Kathy joined West Georgia Family Dentistry November 1st ,1964 where she worked as a dental assistant with Dr. Howard Lewis. She later began training as a hygienist in a preceptorship program. She earned her Hygienist license June 26, 1967 and she has remained a loyal member of our team. Kathy’s patients have become like family to her, as she has seen many of them as children and now sees their children and their grandchildren. Kathy has seen many changes over the years, the practice changed names a couple of times, she has seen her beloved doctors and colleagues retire. We are proud to have Kathy as a member of our team.

Kathy loves serving in her church, First Baptist of Villa Rica and participating in choir. She enjoys traveling with her church and spending time with family and friends

Olivia Johnson, RDH

Olivia is a native of West Georgia, she obtained her Dental Hygiene degree form West Central Technical Collage in 2008. She likes taking care of her patients and helping them maintain their beautiful smiles. Olivia says she is thankful to be apart of such a fantastic dental team.

Olivia enjoys spending time with her husband Michael their son and their two daughters. Olivia enjoys watching her children play sports. She also enjoys CHS Trojan Football!

Jamie Vansant, RDH

Jamie joined West Georgia Family Dentistry in 1995, she grew up in nearby Villa Rica. Jamie graduated hygiene school in 1997 where she received the Thomas Hinman award and was valedictorian of her class.

Jamie enjoys helping her patients with their dental health while also making them feel comfortable in the dental chair. Jamie has a large family and she enjoys spending time with her sisters, children and grandchildren. Her favorite past times are cooking and reading.
